GovExec is a leading media and insights platform serving senior government and industry decision-makers. As the organization continues to evolve, the brand required refinement to better reflect its position as a trusted, forward-thinking authority within the public sector landscape.
As Creative Director, I led a strategic brand refresh focused on enhancing clarity, strengthening visual consistency, and aligning the brand more closely with its core attributes, without disrupting existing brand recognition.

The refresh was intentionally designed as an evolution, not a reinvention, preserving brand equity while improving how the brand is expressed across all touchpoints.
I led the development of a refined brand system that clarified both visual and verbal communication, ensuring alignment with GovExec’s core values of innovation, reliability, and audience-centricity.
The approach emphasized brand clarity and alignment, sharpening how the organization defines and communicates its value. System refinement, enhancing existing visual elements to create a more cohesive and flexible identity, and scalable application, establishing clear guidelines to ensure consistency across teams, platforms, and formats.
Key elements of the refresh included the introduction of an expanded color palette, anchored by the addition of jade to represent growth and renewal, as well as a refined brand voice and updated presentation templates to standardize communication across the organization.
